HTC and AT&T Announce the HTC Status
HTC and AT&T have teamed up to bring you the HTC Status, the first Android phone with a very deep FaceBook integrated experience. The Status is the US version of the already released European ChaCha. The phone itself is running Android 2.3, GingerBread, with a heavily Facebook integrated version of HTC's Sense UI. It's still unknown if the phone will be running the current 600MHz processor or if rumors are true HTC will be updating the phone to an 800MHz processor.
The Status will be a great device for those that are big Facebook users and constantly checking/updating their status'. Price and release date are still unknown but we will have more info as it comes.
Verizon Now Accepting Pre-Orders for LTE Galaxy Tab 10.1
Verizon Wireless has officially announced they are taking pre-orders for their version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 by Samsung. The Tab is running HoneyComb Android 3.X and has the same specs as the wi-fi version of the device, but what really differentiates this on from the other... Verizon LTE! That's right, you will be able to access the web, download files at blazing high-speeds, all thanks to Verizon 4G LTE. Orders are said to ship 4-6 weeks after placing orders. So the question is which will Motorola be able to finally upgrade the Xoom to LTE or will Samsung be the first with an LTE compatible Android tablet.
Droid 2 Now Officially A Supported CyanogenMod Device
It has been officially announced by the CyanogenMod team that the Motorola Droid 2 is now a supported device. Devs are using the same "second init" method used in the Droid X and Defy to get this working around the locked bootloader. The only thing you won't be able to change is the kernel, since you won't be able to flash a custom kernel without the correct encrypted keys that are read by the bootloader. But still, anything that can free you from the dreaded MotoBlur experience is a plus. Right? Nightly support is said to start tonight so be on the lookout on the CyanogenMod download center to get your nightly version of the ROM.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Now Available to All
The day has finally come and now the Galaxy Tab 10.1 by Samsung is now available to everyone in America, after being exclusively for sale in New York only. The Tab is running Android 3.0 "HoneyComb" with Samsung's TouchWiz UI on top. But it seems the tablet version of TouchWiz isn't so "in your face" as the mobile one.
The Tab 10.1 has a NVIDIA Tegra 2 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB or RAM, and a 10.1" 1280x800 display. On the rear you have a 3 megapixel camera and a VGA resolution front-facing camera for video chats. One thing you won't get out of the box is a usb port unfortunately, especially when the newest honeycomb update brings USB device capabilities to your tablet. But Samsung has you covered, as Samsung is later releasing a 30pin USB connector for the Tab.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 comes in two different models, a 16GB and a 32GB version are available. The 16GB version will cost you $499.99 and the 32GB will through you back $599.99. A 4G LTE version is set to come to Verizon later in the year, so if you want some super fast LTE speeds with your tablet, you might want to wait out for the time being.
