Droid 2 Now Officially A Supported CyanogenMod Device
It has been officially announced by the CyanogenMod team that the Motorola Droid 2 is now a supported device. Devs are using the same "second init" method used in the Droid X and Defy to get this working around the locked bootloader. The only thing you won't be able to change is the kernel, since you won't be able to flash a custom kernel without the correct encrypted keys that are read by the bootloader. But still, anything that can free you from the dreaded MotoBlur experience is a plus. Right? Nightly support is said to start tonight so be on the lookout on the CyanogenMod download center to get your nightly version of the ROM.
